FocusDragon is software you install on your Mac, made by an indie developer. The free tier is yours to use as long as the app exists. Pro is a one-time $5 purchase; AI and AI Plus are monthly subscriptions billed by Stripe. You can cancel any subscription any time from inside the app and keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't run a service that holds your blocks hostage — your blocks live on your Mac.
FocusDragon is operated by Anay Goenka (the "Operator"), an individual based in Dubai. By installing FocusDragon, signing in, or paying for a plan you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. If something here is unclear or unworkable for your situation, email hello@focusdragon.app — we'd rather sort it out by mail than litigate.
The free tier is provided as-is. It includes manual blocking, blocklists, the browser extension, and the bring-your-own-Anthropic-key path for AI features (you pay Anthropic directly). We may add features, change defaults, fix bugs, or — with notice — discontinue the free tier entirely. There is no SLA on the free tier.
FocusDragon Pro is a one-time payment of $5 USD that unlocks Statistics, Locked blocks, and Bulletproof Strictness. It is not a subscription. Once paid, the entitlement is attached to your account and remains active for as long as the FocusDragon app exists and continues to recognise the Pro feature flag. If we ever shut the app down or rename Pro, we will provide reasonable notice (at least 60 days).
AI ($3.99/month) and AI Plus ($14.99/month) are recurring monthly subscriptions billed by Stripe. Pricing displayed in the app and on focusdragon.app/pricing is the agreed price; sales tax / VAT may be added at checkout depending on your jurisdiction. Each subscription includes a monthly cap on AI-watched focus time (40 hours for AI, 250 hours for AI Plus). When you exceed the cap the AI assistant returns an over-quota message until the next billing period; manual blocking continues to work.
AI and AI Plus subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the same price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel any time from Settings → Upgrade → Manage Subscription, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. After that, your account drops back to Free (unless you separately own Pro, which stays).
If you cancel an AI / AI Plus subscription within 7 days of the initial charge and have used the AI features fewer than 60 minutes total, email hello@focusdragon.app for a full refund. Pro ($5 lifetime) is generally non-refundable given the price; we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis if you contact us within 14 days of purchase. EU consumers retain their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal where applicable.
You may not: use FocusDragon to block or interfere with third parties' computers without authorisation; reverse-engineer the app to circumvent paywall checks (we'll cancel access without refund); resell, redistribute, or sublicense the app or your account; or use the AI features to send content that violates Anthropic's Usage Policies. The Anthropic policies are folded into these Terms by reference for paid AI users.
The AI assistant is intended for personal focus and productivity. Don't use it as a general-purpose AI tool — the system prompts, quotas, and pricing are calibrated for short on-task / off-task classifications. We reserve the right to throttle or terminate accounts that send abnormal volumes, scripted traffic, or content unrelated to focus / productivity. We will email before terminating any account in good faith.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We don't have a password to reset because we use OAuth (Google or Apple) — if you lose access to your OAuth provider, contact us. You may delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or by emailing hello@focusdragon.app.
FocusDragon updates itself via Sparkle. We may push updates that change features, fix bugs, or alter behavior. We won't push an update that turns a previously-working free feature into a paid one without giving you the option to stay on the prior build for at least 30 days. We'll list every behavior change in the in-app changelog.
AI and AI Plus depend on three external services: Supabase (auth), Stripe (billing), and Anthropic (the LLM). If any of those is degraded or down, AI features may be unavailable for the duration. Manual blocking continues to work — that path is fully local and has no upstream dependency. We don't provide an SLA but we will issue pro-rated credits at our discretion if any single service interruption exceeds 24 hours within a single billing period.
The FocusDragon app binary, website, name, logo, and brand assets are the Operator's property. Your blocks, focus sessions, statistics, and the content of any messages you send to the AI assistant are yours. Granting us a licence to operate the AI proxy on your behalf is the only IP-related thing we ask for, and that licence ends the moment you stop using the AI features.
FocusDragon is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the AI assistant will catch every drift, that locks are unbreakable on a determined adversary's hardware, or that your statistics will be accurate to the millisecond. Use FocusDragon as a tool that helps you focus — not as a substitute for professional advice or treatment.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability arising out of or related to FocusDragon (whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise) is limited to the amount you've paid the Operator in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages are excluded. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot be limited under your local law (for instance, fraud or wilful misconduct).
Either side can terminate this agreement at any time. You can stop using the app, cancel any subscription, and delete your account; we can suspend or terminate your account with notice if you breach these Terms. Termination doesn't refund prior charges (except as described under Refunds) but cancels future ones.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Dubai, UAE — except where local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence, in which case those courts also have jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms. Material changes (price increases, new fees, expanded data collection) will be announced at least 30 days in advance via the in-app changelog and an email to your account address. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Non-material changes (typo fixes, link updates) take effect when posted.
