AI Focus for Mac

Block the distraction you didn’t think to block.

You blocked the usual websites. Then you found something else. AI Focus starts with what you want to get done and checks whether your screen matches it. Less time maintaining a list. More attention on the work you chose.

Staged demonstration using the real app UI. AI judgments can vary.

Your goal gives the block its meaning.

A browser can hold your lecture, your research, your draft and your next distraction. A list of domains cannot express every difference between those activities. AI Focus adds a different kind of check: does what is on the screen support the goal you set for this block?

Write a concrete goal such as ‘Revise integration using my lecture notes and practice questions’ or ‘Finish the introduction to my history essay.’ During the block you start, AI analyzes screenshots against that goal. It is designed to recognize relevant work even when it happens on a site that can also be distracting.

When the detour takes over, the app closes.

After two consecutive checks identify off-task activity, FocusDragon closes the distracting app or browser and starts a cooldown. The first two cooldowns last two minutes each; later strikes increase to five and then ten minutes. This is an interruption you have chosen in advance, at the moment you still know what matters.

The check applies to the app or browser, not just an individual tab. Save your work before starting: closing an app can lose unsaved changes. AI can also make mistakes, so a specific, realistic goal matters. It cannot promise to understand every screen or catch every distraction.

Keep the useful parts of the internet.

A maths explanation can support revision. An unrelated entertainment video can pull you away from it. The same distinction applies to documentation versus a feed, source material versus shopping, and a working document versus a game. AI Focus evaluates activity in context rather than treating a site’s name as the whole story.

Use regular website and app blocks for places you already know you want closed. Add AI Focus when the more difficult problem is the detour you cannot predict. Both approaches have a place; your goal and your block lists do different jobs.

A focus tool you turn on for your own work.

AI Focus is for adults 18 and over using a Mac. It checks screenshots in the cloud during a block you start. FocusDragon’s server does not store those screenshots, and the AI provider processes them under a zero-data-retention agreement. The screenshots are not used to train models.

What is an AI distraction blocker?

An AI distraction blocker evaluates your activity against context such as a goal, rather than relying only on a list of blocked domains or apps. FocusDragon AI Focus checks screenshots during a block you start and closes the app or browser after two consecutive off-task checks.

Does AI Focus work on iPhone or iPad?

AI Focus’s screen checking and app-closing workflow is a Mac feature. FocusDragon also has an iPhone and iPad app, but that does not mean the Mac AI feature runs on iOS.

Do I need to list every distracting website?

You do not need an exhaustive block list for AI Focus to assess your screen against your goal. You can still use ordinary website and app blocks for known distractions.
