What BYOK is

BYOK is a one-time $15 add-on that unlocks a custom AI provider field under Settings → Developer. Once unlocked, you paste an Anthropic Claude API key (sk-ant-api03-…, from console.anthropic.com) and AI Focus sends classification calls straight from your Mac to Anthropic. Our servers see nothing. Anthropic bills your account directly for usage, typically a few cents per hour of monitoring.

Who it's for

Deliberately niche. BYOK is for power users who already have an Anthropic Console account, want full control over their AI provider, and would rather pay per-token than subscribe. For everyone else, the AI Focus subscription is a simpler deal.

BYOK does NOT include Pro features. Statistics, Locked blocks, and Bulletproof Strictness still require the $5 Pro purchase or an AI Focus subscription. BYOK and Pro are independent purchases — you can hold either, both, or neither.

Where to find it

After purchasing BYOK from the pricing page, open the Mac app and go to Settings → Developer. The custom provider field appears there. Paste your key, save, and AI Focus routes through Anthropic Claude from that point forward.

BYOK calls bypass FocusDragon's monthly cap and the graceful-degradation curve — you're paying Anthropic per call, so polling stays at full cadence regardless of usage.
