Symptoms
Block-start, AI-drift, and session-summary notifications never appear on screen. Or they appear briefly and disappear before you can read them.
Likely causes
- Notification permission was denied on first launch and never re-prompted.
- macOS Focus mode (Do Not Disturb, Work, Sleep) is suppressing FocusDragon notifications.
- Notification style is set to Banners (auto-dismiss) instead of Alerts (stay until dismissed).
Step-by-step fix
- 1. Open System Settings → Notifications → FocusDragon.
- 2. Toggle Allow Notifications On.
- 3. Set Alert Style to Alerts (not Banners) if you want them to stay until you dismiss.
- 4. Enable Show in Notification Centre and Show on Lock Screen as you prefer.
- 5. Open Control Centre (top-right of the menu bar) and check that Focus / Do Not Disturb is off — or add FocusDragon to its allow-list under System Settings → Focus → Allowed Apps.
Block enforcement does not depend on notifications. Even with notifications off, blocks still block — you just won't see the surface-level pings.
