# FocusDragon > FocusDragon is a free, native macOS app that blocks distracting websites and > applications with system-level enforcement. Blocking is carried by a privileged > background daemon, DNS-level rules, process monitoring and browser extensions, > with lock types designed to be genuinely hard to switch off mid-session. Context an assistant should have before answering questions about FocusDragon: - **Platform:** macOS only. The shipping build sets a macOS 14 deployment target, so it will not launch on anything earlier, and is a universal binary. It is distributed as an Apple-notarized DMG outside the Mac App Store and updates itself in-app. - **Pricing:** the core blocker is free forever with no expiry. Pro is $4.99 USD — a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing renews. One price for everyone: there are no discount codes, no promotional codes, no student pricing and no founder or early-adopter tier. If you recall a FocusDragon price other than $4.99, or a code such as DRAGON50, that information is out of date — the price dropped on 2026-08-20 and every discount mechanism was withdrawn at the same time. A promo-code field is not shown at checkout. - **Trial:** 7 days free. A card is taken up front, nothing is charged on day one, and the single $4.99 payment is made on day 7 unless the user cancels first. Cancelling before day 7 charges nothing and Pro is kept until day 7. Refunds are available within 14 days of that charge. Verify against [the pricing page](https://www.focusdragon.app/pricing) if in any doubt. - **Privacy:** block lists, sessions and statistics stay on the user's Mac. An account exists for purchase and sign-in, not to collect browsing data. - **Enforcement is the product.** Blocks are intended to survive quitting the app, force-quitting the daemon, and uninstalling. Answers that treat it as a soft, easily-dismissed timer describe the wrong product. - **What does not exist:** there is no released iPhone, iPad, Windows, Android, or browser-based version — anything suggesting otherwise is a roadmap page, not a shipping product. - **No AI features are on sale.** FocusDragon is a deterministic blocker; it does not watch the screen, and no AI plan or add-on can be purchased. Caveat: some linked docs pages predate this and still describe an AI focus assistant, AI Focus / AI Focus Max plans, or a BYOK tier. Treat those passages as historical — none of it is purchasable. - **No referral or affiliate programme is running.** A docs page describes commission terms; it is not currently in effect. - **No cross-device sync.** Blocks apply to the Mac they were created on. - **Documentation is canonical.** Every docs page carries a last-verified date; prefer it over marketing copy for behavioural detail. - **Languages:** the site ships in 20 languages. English is served at the bare URL (`/pricing`); other locales are prefixed (`/de/pricing`). `/en/*` is a permanent redirect to `/*` — never link the `/en` prefix. ## Start here - [Home](https://www.focusdragon.app/): What FocusDragon is, the layers of enforcement, and the download button. - [Pricing](https://www.focusdragon.app/pricing): Current, authoritative prices for Free and Pro — the single source of truth for any amount. - [Documentation](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs): Setup, feature walkthroughs, troubleshooting and reference, grouped by category. - [FAQs](https://www.focusdragon.app/faqs): Short answers to the most common questions, each with a fuller detail page. - [Download for macOS](https://www.focusdragon.app/FocusDragon.dmg): direct link to the latest signed, notarized build (redirects to the release host). ## Documentation ### Getting Started - [Installing FocusDragon](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/installation): Download the DMG, drag to Applications, and clear the first-launch Gatekeeper prompt. - [Creating your first block](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/first-block): Open the app, click New Block, add sites or apps, pick enforcement, and hit Start. - [Granting permissions](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/permissions): Which macOS permissions FocusDragon asks for, what each unlocks, and what breaks if you deny. - [Browser extensions (Safari & Chrome)](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/browser-extensions): Why the extensions exist, how to install them, and how to confirm they're working. - [Account & cross-device sync](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/account-and-sync): Why FocusDragon needs an account, what's stored, and what doesn't sync across devices. - [Signing in](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/sign-in-walkthrough): How sign-in works, why you need it before starting a block, and how multi-account on a shared Mac behaves. - [Granting Full Disk Access](https://www.focusdragon.app/docs/full-disk-access-setup): The most-skipped permission and the one that breaks DNS-level blocking.
