Troubleshooting

Wrong account signed in / shared Mac

Last verified: May 2026

Symptoms

You opened the app and someone else's blocks, stats, or account email is showing. Or you share a Mac and want to swap accounts without leaking data between users.

How to sign out

  • 1. Settings → Account → Sign Out.
  • 2. Confirm. The app closes the session and returns to the auth screen.
  • 3. Sign in with the correct email.

What survives sign-out

Your blocks and preferences live in ~/Library on this Mac, and they survive sign-out. The reasoning: if you sign out and back in to the same account, you'd expect your blocks to be exactly where you left them. This is intentional but worth knowing on a shared machine.

What clears on sign-out

  • The cached cross-device usage rollups, so the next signed-in user doesn't see your stats.
  • The cached entitlement, so the next user is correctly treated as free until their entitlement loads.
  • The active auth session and refresh token.
On a truly shared Mac (siblings, partners, etc.) the safest split is separate macOS user accounts. Within one macOS user, FocusDragon's preferences are shared by design — sign-out clears the session but not the on-disk blocks.

Full reset between users

If you want a full wipe between users on the same macOS account, follow the "Uninstalling and reinstalling cleanly" guide between sign-ins.
