Nudge
- Force-quits the offending app or closes the offending browser tab
- Shows an overlay: "Hey — you drifted"
- Includes an "I was on-task" button to whitelist the site/app for this session
- No cooldown — the next classifier poll (30s later) re-evaluates fresh
Hard
- Force-quits the offending app or closes the offending browser tab
- Registers a 5-minute cooldown — if you relaunch the app, it gets killed again
- Shows an overlay with a live countdown: "You have 4:59 before you can use Chrome again"
- Each relaunch extends the cooldown (persistent reopening never wins)
- No override button — you wait it out
Nudge is the default and works well for most people. Hard is for deep work when you genuinely cannot afford to drift.
