FocusDragon has a free tier that's genuinely useful, a one-time Pro unlock, and two AI Focus subscriptions: AI Focus and AI Focus Max. Pro is one price for everyone. Verified students can get AI Focus for $58 a year, with the same AI Focus allowance.

- Bulletproof Strictness — daemon-level enforcement that survives reboots and quit attempts.
- Statistics — focus session history and time-blocked metrics.
- Pay once, keep forever. No subscription.
- Trial is account-keyed on the Mac checkout path.
AI Focus
- Price: the price shown at checkout, billed monthly or yearly. It's a subscription that renews until you cancel.
- Everything in Pro is included while your plan is active.
- Tell the dragon your task and start a block. It checks your screen every 10 to 20 seconds, only during the block, and after two distracted checks in a row closes that app or site for a cooldown: 2, 2, 5, then 10 minutes as strikes add up, never longer.
- A monthly allowance of full-speed checking. When it's used up, checks slow down rather than stop. Your allowance month runs from your billing day, and Usage in the app shows the time left in hours and minutes.
- For people 18 and over.
AI Focus Max
- Price: the price shown at checkout, billed monthly or yearly.
- Everything in AI Focus, with a bigger monthly allowance, so checks stay at full speed for longer.
Your free hour
- Every signed-in account gets one free hour of AI Focus in the Mac app. No card needed.
- Once the hour is used, AI Focus stops until you choose a plan.
- One free hour per account, ever. If you've had a FocusDragon trial before, you subscribe instead.
The AI Focus free trial
- Instead of the free hour on its own, you can start a 7-day trial: the same free hour of AI Focus, plus every Pro feature for 7 days if you don't already own Pro. It's not available once you've used the free hour.
- A card is needed to start. Nothing is charged today.
- On day 7 your card is charged for the plan and billing period you chose, and the plan renews from then on, unless you cancel first.
- Cancel any time before day 7 from Usage on the AI Focus page in the app. You keep the trial until its end date, and nothing is charged.
- Once the free hour is used, AI Focus stops until your plan starts. You can start your plan straight away, or keep Pro to the end of the trial.
- One free hour per account, ever. If you've had a FocusDragon trial before, you subscribe instead.
Switching between AI Focus and AI Focus Max
- Switch inside the app, from Usage on the AI Focus page. You see the exact amount before you confirm.
- Moving up to AI Focus Max happens straight away: the difference for the rest of your billing period is charged today, and full speed comes back for the days that are left. If the card is declined, nothing changes.
- Moving down to AI Focus happens at your next renewal, with no refund. You keep AI Focus Max until then, and you can keep it if you change your mind before that date.
- During the free trial, switching only changes which plan your trial becomes. Nothing is charged.
If you own Pro
Pro is yours for life. An AI Focus plan is a separate subscription, and Pro stays yours whatever happens to it.
Refunds
14 days from purchase — use focusdragon.app/contact. Pro is a single payment with nothing to cancel; if you start the 7-day trial and cancel before day 7, no charge is ever made. EU consumers retain their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
