Let someone else hold the key

Last verified: October 2026

The most reliable setup for many people: you choose what to block, and someone you trust controls the way out. Here's how to set that up on each device.

On Mac

  • Use the Password lock (Pro). Open the block, set Lock Type to Password, and hand the keyboard to your partner so they type a password you don't know. Disabling the block then requires that password.
  • There is no password recovery, by design. Ask your partner to keep the password somewhere safe.
  • Bulletproof Strictness (Pro) means quitting FocusDragon or dragging it to the Trash during a block doesn't end it: the background blocker keeps enforcing and puts the app back.
  • Turn off password autofill for FocusDragon, so your password manager can't fill it in for you.
